It’s been a few months now that you’ve been dreaming about a trip to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and that time has finally come.
We are glad to welcome you back to The Inn at Riverwalk and are taking every precaution to ensure both our guests and staff are afforded a safe environment. In order to do so, we are following state and county guidelines to operate at no more than 50% occupancy. For full details on everything we are doing to keep you safe and healthy, click here.
If you’re wondering what you can do to make the most of our wide open spaces while you’re here, the answer is just about everything with a few modifications!
Our riverside pool and hot tub, fitness center and Gear Garage are all available and awesome.
The pool and hot tub provide a tranquil setting just next to the recreation path which follows the Eagle River. In fact, we suggest borrowing a hybrid bike from the Gear Garage and exploring the area by following the path. Head east to catch some rays and watch paddleboarders at Nottingham Park in Avon, or be truly ambitious and make the hike to Vail. You’ll see plenty of adventurists rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing along the way. They just might inspire your next activity!
Restaurants are operating at 50% capacity indoors and without capacity limits outdoors, so long as social distancing standards are met. Tables are at least 8 feet apart which gives you plenty of room to spread out and hang out with your friends. Our town’s beautiful weather will have you begging for a sunny patio seat! Restaurants are also offering take out and delivery, which are perfect options to take on a hike or sit down by the Eagle River just behind The Inn.
Some of our favorite spots right here in Riverwalk in Edwards are:
– Zino Ristorante
– Main Street Grill
– Juniper
– The Boardroom
– Woody’s Bar and Grill

Entertainment
Riverwalk Theater is presenting a classic movie series the whole month of June. It kicks off with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and moves on to favorites like Shrek and Pulp Fiction. This is a classic theater resembling one from your childhood memories but with a cool patio serving local coffee, BBQ and treats. Lots of locals stop here for a quick bite and a chat even if they don’t plan to catch a movie. Inn at Riverwalk guests are offered 20% off all coffee and breakfast items!
Horseback Riding
Think wide open spaces with breathtaking views of local landmarks like the Sawatch Range, Castle Peak, and Red and White Mountain. Add in a horse for yourself, some cows in the neighboring field, blue skies, maybe a cowboy hat. You’ll need a helmet, some friends, and an experienced guide as well, but those don’t drum up old western movie vibes quite as easily. Four Eagle Ranch may seem like it’s in the middle of nowhere but it’s only 25 minutes from The Inn at Riverwalk and their knowledgeable staff will be thrilled to hit the trails with you starting June 1. Their ranch setting and miles of private trails are unmatched.
Fly Fishing
So long as you have a Colorado fishing lisence, you can spend your whole day popping up and down the Eagle River just behind the hotel catching trout. The Vail Valley boasts some of the best fly fishing in the country and there are seemingly endless locations from which to choose. We’ve got dozens of rushing rivers, trickling streams, alpine lakes and stocked ponds. Luckily Vail Valley Anglers is right in the Riverwalk offering private guided tours just for your group. Their guides can take you to the most secluded spots that are so beautiful, your social followers will be drooling over the photos. Not to mention you can learn tips to help you improve your fishing skills tenfold. Vail Valley Anglers offers both float and wade trips, half and full day.
Whitewater Rafting
Sage Outdoor Adventures is one of our favorite area whitewater rafting operators. Their website has quite the bold promise, “WE SELL FUN. WE DO FUN. THIS IS OUR LIFESTYLE. IF WE DIDN’T LIKE IT, WE WOULDN’T OFFER IT. WE GUARANTEE YOU’RE GOING TO MAKE LEGENDARY MEMORIES WITH US!” And boy, do they deliver. For the moment, tour sizes are limited to ensure social distancing guidelines are met but that doesn’t stop the fun from being delivered! They offer everything from Class I float trips suitable for young families or those interested in relaxing and taking in the stunning scenery of the upper Colorado River, to heart-pounding, ohmygosh, adrenaline-pumping Class IV-V adventures.
Hiking
Minimal planning, maximum possibilities. If you’ve been cooped up in your house recently, daydreaming about frolicking in wildflowers or summiting a mountain but unable to do so, now is the time. To be fair, you need to plan enough to know where you’re headed and be prepared with supplies such as a first aid kit, a map, and snacks. Do some research on All Trails or the National Forest Service website to find the trail that is perfect for you. A few of our favorites are West Lake Creek in Edwards, Booth Creek Falls in Vail, Shrine Pass and Missouri Lakes.
We know information is changing fast so we will be sure to keep our website and social media updated. If you have specific questions, just give us a call.
