Spotlight: Vail Valley Anglers Unique Fishing Trips
Maybe it’s going to be a beautiful, sun-shining, bird-chirping day and the idea of spending a single unnecessary moment inside a car makes you cringe.
Maybe you’re an experienced fisherman who prefers to move relatively effortlessly from secluded spot to secret splendor throughout the day, without re-packing the car.
Maybe you have a limited amount of time and you want to cram the greatest amount of outdoor fun into one day. Everyone can use a guide to fishing in the Vail Valley!
Whatever your reason, Vail Valley Anglers has a unique fishing trip which is sure to please.
You may be familiar Vail Valley Angler’s top-notch traditional offerings like half and full day wade and float trips. These experiences are their bread and butter, making them one of the most trusted outfitters in the Vail Valley. Suitable for all ages and skill levels, these trips are offered year-round with knowledgeable guides on some of the best rivers and lakes you may ever fish.
Now, those same outdoor-enthusiast guides have created some truly unique fishing experiences that allow you to enjoy the Colorado wilderness on another level.
Hike and Fish
If you can imagine a more perfect scenario than hiking 3-6 miles through fields of wildflowers, flanked by the Rocky Mountains to end with fishing at a pristine river, let us know. We can’t think of a better way to enjoy Colorado in the summer. This trip is offered for groups of 1-4 people in July and August. What’s incredible is you will be fishing on the Piney River in the Eagle’s Nest Wilderness in a spot fished by less than 20 people yearly. You would be hard pressed to find a more unique and exclusive experience.
Recommendations: Vail Valley Anglers provides everything from your wading gear to lunch on longer hikes. When you are picked up via complimentary transportation for your tour, you will be expected to be hiking-ready. That means you should be wearing sturdy hiking boots and sporting a day pack with plenty of water. As always, bring your camera. You won’t be disappointed!
E-Bike and Fish
The Vail Valley boasts a paved bike path which can bring you as far as Breckenridge or Glenwood Springs, depending on which direction you set off in. Maybe we’re biased, but we think our stretch of the Gore Creek Trail from Edwards to Vail is the most scenic. On a day you may normally be choosing between biking along the Eagle River or wade fishing in it, you no longer need to decide.
Vail Valley Anglers has a fleet of eco-friendly electric bicycles customized to carry all necessary fishing gear. By pedaling between spots, you spend your time breathing in the fresh Colorado air, not re-packing the car and searching for a parking spot. Choose between a half and full day experience and bring bike-riding friends or family 18 years or older.
