Mountain Dog Adoption Event Recap

Success is an understatement.

We could not believe the incredible community support for The Inn at Riverwalk's first of many dog adoption events. Would you believe we ran out of dogs in just over an hour?

Seriously, we started the event with 9 puppies and an hour later, every pup had a forever home.

There is no shortage of fantastic dogs in need of loving homes, so the Rifle Animal Shelter brought 2 more dogs who were adopted on Saturday. That is a grand total of 11 dogs who now have families to call their own!

As a pet-friendly hotel, we know how much our community loves dogs. There are few places outside Colorado where you can bring your furry friend just about everywhere. From pet-friendly stores to patios, parks to trails, the Vail Valley really is paradise for dogs and dog-lovers.

As you might imagine, it was a struggle for the hotel staff to avoid taking armfuls of puppies home. Most of us stayed strong. One of us just could not resist the puppy eyes and took home the cutest of them all, Jasper. Can you blame him? (We can't).

We hosted a successful Muttmosa bar with our resident bark-tender, Avy.

She brewed up her best concoction consisting of chicken broth, carrots, blueberries and a touch of whipped cream. The dogs who dared to try report it was delicious and equally messy.

Our other hotel dog, Sage, served up some decidedly questionable looks at the costume station. Her application for America's Next Top Dog Model has not yet been approved.

We couldn't have done this without the help of our generous event sponsors and participants: Rifle Animal Shelter, Smart Cookie Barkery, Mountain K9 Pet Shop, Kong, and Mountain Spirit K9 Training. Thank you for your support!

The bar is high for subsequent events but we can't resist keeping this momentum moving. So...another adoption event is coming this fall!

Keep your eyes peeled for information about your next opportunity to do something wonderful by providing a loving home for a pup who wants nothing more than a human to call their own.

We hope to see you next time!
